Gwinnett Technical College and Brenau University Re-Up Articulation Agreement

Brenau University President Ed Schrader and Gwinnett Technical College President Dr. Glen Cannon signed an enhanced articulation agreement on Dec. 18. The agreement, which specifically serves as a transfer agreement regarding Interiors and Business classes, opens opportunities for Gwinnett Tech students to continue their education past the associate degree level and earn a bachelor’s degree from Brenau University.

“This is really what the new world of education is about,” Schrader said. “It’s combining institutions that have access to students who may not have had access to higher education though a four-year channel and helping them come here and succeed.”

According to Kipler Personal Finance, Georgia is home to the fourth fastest growing job market in the nation. As Gwinnett Tech Dean of Business and Art & Design Dr. Jermaine Whirl notes, a majority of those emerging opportunities require well-trained college graduates.

“It’s important for us to create partnerships,” he said, “so we can grow the graduating classes that will provide the workforce needs.”

Gwinnett Technical College offers its courses in Interiors at the associate degree, diploma and technical certificate of credit levels. Students are taught theoretical principals and skills that prepare them for a variety of careers from design to sales. Courses are offered at Gwinnett Technical College’s Lawrenceville Campus.

Gwinnett Technical College also offers a wide variety of business courses and programs at the associate degree, diploma and technical certificate of credit levels that prepare students for careers in accounting, marketing and business management. Classes are available at both the Lawrenceville and Alpharetta-North Fulton campuses.

Gwinnett Technical College offers more than 150 degree, diploma and certificate program options that can be completed in two years or less. For more information, visit or call 770-962-7580.
